If you are having trouble with your Chromebook, there are a few things you need to try first.
Update your Chromebook
Updates normally take place automatically and just need a restart to be applied. It is important to restart periodically, as pending updates can cause problems.
- Click the system tray in the bottom-right corner of your Chromebook (where the clock is located).
- Click the Gear icon at the top of the menu.
- In the settings window, click "About Chrome OS" on the lower left.
- Click "Check for Updates."
- When the update is finished, click "Restart."
Speed Test
If you are having trouble accessing sites, it could be your Internet speed. Perform a speed test to see if your access is adequate for what you need to do.
- Perform a Google search for Internet Speed Test
- Click the "Run Speed Test" button.
- Screenshot the results (you may need to send this to your teacher or the office).
Chromebook Wipe
On certain occasions, it is helpful to wipe your Chromebook. This removes all profiles from the Chromebook and resets it back to its factory settings. This process takes about 5 minutes. Please contact tech@belleville.k12.wi.us to set up an appointment.
