Public Health Madison Dane County is asking that we remind families, students, and community members that all school grounds are closed until further notice due to STATE ORDER. In addition to the school building, this includes all courts and playgrounds. People can still use community outdoor open spaces if they are alone or with members of their household as long as they keep 6ft of social distancing from others.

We continue to navigate through the rapidly changing situation with COVID-19.

First and foremost, Thank you for all your efforts, support and communication during this difficult time. I know it is hard at times to wrap our thoughts around what is happening and how fast everything changes.

As more information is presented on a daily basis, we want you to know we are committed to getting you this information as quickly as possible but also ensuring it is accurate as well.

With the latest recommendations in mind, all of our facilities will be closed to visitors beginning Thursday, March 18. If you have questions, please email your building secretary or principal. Please contact the district website for the updated information www.belleville.k12.wi.us. For now the best method of contact is email.

As per Governor Tony Ever’s directive, we are planning as if students will be out of school for an extended period of time.

Distance Makes Us Stronger

We know these are tough times, and that having your kids get together with other kids brings a sense of comfort (and gives you a break too)! However, it’s extremely important that you and your family maintain physical distance from other people who live outside of your home. Do not host play dates, meet up at the park, or let your children hang out with their friends during the day, evening, or on the weekends.

What You Can Do and Our Cleaning Measures

The School District of Belleville has a routine cleaning regimen in place to help reduce the spread of germs and communicable disease. In addition to our regular cleaning and disinfection, we are increasing the cleaning of high-touch areas and hard and soft surface items throughout the day. We will follow all guidelines of the CDC and our local and state health departments.

• Wash your hands regularly, for 20 seconds, using soap and hot water. Make sure to wash your fingertips. This is especially important after using the restroom, coughing or sneezing into your hands, and before preparing or consuming food.
• Avoid coughing or sneezing into your hands or in the air. Always try to cough or sneeze into a tissue, and then throw the tissue away. If you don’t have a tissue, cough/sneeze into your arm.
• As much as you can, avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose.
• If children are feeling sick, please keep them home from school. Families should have a plan in place for keeping your child home, picking up your child if they are sent home sick, and if schools are closed.
