| Public notice is hereby given that public records may be requested from the School District of Belleville in accordance with Board policy Board Policy 8310 - Public Records.
Description of the School District: The School District of Belleville in Wisconsin is a public district serving early childhood through grades 12 and special education students through age 21. The District is located about 18 miles south of Madison.
The identity of the legal custodian(s): District Administrator. When the District Administrator is the subject of the public records request, the Director of Teaching & Learning will be the legal custodian.
Each position that constitutes a local public office or a state public office: Board of Education members, the District Administrator, the Director of Teaching & Learning/Director of Student Services, Business Manager, Principals, and Associate Principals
The established times and places at which the public may obtain information and access to records in the organization's custody, or make requests for records, or obtain copies of records, and the methods for accessing or obtaining copies of records. All records requests should be submitted in writing to the office of the District Administrator by email or in person during business hours at the District Office located at 625 W. Church Street, Belleville, WI 53508.
The costs for obtaining records. The District may also impose fees upon the requester in accordance with the Wisconsin Public Records Law. The District may impose a fee upon the requester of a copy of a record of twenty-five cents ($0.25) per page, which represents the actual, necessary, and direct cost of reproduction of the record. In addition, the District may impose a fee upon a requester for the actual time spent by District employees in locating a record, if the cost is $50.00 or more. In calculating location costs, the District will use the applicable employee's hourly rate for salary and benefits. The District may also charge the requester for any equipment required to fill the request (such as videotapes, computer disks, etc.). The District may impose a fee upon a requester for the actual, necessary, and direct cost of mailing or shipping of any copies which are mailed or shipped to the requester. The District may require prepayment of fees if the total amount exceeds $5.00. If payment is required, the District will calculate the actual cost and charge the requester. If advance payment is required, the District will either invoice the requester for the difference between the estimate and actual cost or refund any overpayment. |
