Some people believe that stretching is a waste of time and that it is not needed in order to exercise. However, the University of North Carolina proved that dynamic stretching can actually enhance a players performance during the game. Dynamic stretching is the repetitive movement of your muscles to increase blood flow and increase their range of flexibility. Dynamic stretching is also known to increase power and your range of motion.
As tightness builds within shoulders and rotator cuffs, players will experience a decrease in their throwing speed, along with accuracy. It is important for players to do pre-game/practice dynamic stretches along with static stretches post-game/practice if necessary.
